Janah Management Company Ltd, in partnership with Peden Bloodstock, is one of the world’s largest international shippers of thoroughbred and competition horses. Janah Management Company Ltd services the logistical needs of Godolphin, Darley Stallions and other global private entities. Our headquarters is based in Newmarket, which is the epicentre of the UK’s thoroughbred industry.

Janah Management Company Ltd is currently recruiting a competent Administrative Assistant. Reporting directly to the Shipping Directors, your role will be to provide administrative support to the entire team in their work to arrange the international transportation of thoroughbreds, endurance and sports horses by air, road and sea.  Primarily you will be compiling data files, completing application procedures for customs & health, providing meticulous data transfer and input whilst undertaking routine office tasks which are critical to the shipping process. 

As you gain experience you will be required to liaise with a wide array of stakeholders across the globe including owners, trainers, racing, stud & competition managers, stable managers, organising committees, riders and grooms as well as airlines, road hauliers, government authorities, airport authorities, customs brokers, veterinarians and laboratories.  For the right candidate this role could provide an ideal entry point for a career in the Equine Shipping industry and would provide the basic skills needed to progress to be a Shipping Consultant in your own right.  

Previous experience within the equine industry would be advantageous. Alternatively you may have a good working knowledge of horses with an interest in the racing/competition horse industry coupled with a sound background working in a busy, high pressured dynamic office environment.  

You will be well organised, methodical and have a fastidious attention to detail. You will have the ability to prioritise and multitask whilst working to challenging deadlines. A flexible approach to working hours is essential to ensure an unwavering commitment to service provision across time zones, and to an unrelenting standard of delivery that is not limited to the regular working week. You will relish using your own initiative yet be able to work under direction when required. The successful applicant will be a strong team player with outstanding communication skills.

You will have excellent IT skills and an exceptional working knowledge of common computer software packages.
