Join our team of Payroll Lockdown Heroes
It's been quite a year for William Hill's payroll team. We've taken pride in supporting our colleagues during the furlough scheme and beyond, and we're delighted to have been recognised by our industry for the work we've done. Read all about it here
There is an opportunity for a payroll whizz to join us for 12 months whilst one of our lovely team takes maternity leave.
We make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after – we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.
Your role in the team
You'll ensure our people get paid accurately and on time each month, executing all payroll input processing and reporting, and dealing with administration such as data extraction, correlation and auditing. You'll provide excellent customer service to our people regarding their Payroll queries (via phone or email) to help guide them through situations, providing the highest levels of resolution, support and customer satisfaction. You'll also deal with queries from third parties.
You'll ensure agreed payroll KPI’s and SLA’s are met and delivered with a continuous improvement mind-set, and won't be afraid to propose process improvement ideas which can reduce time, improve accuracy or enhance controls. It will be your role to administer our Company sick pay scheme as well as pay rolling absence and overtime, and also to support and manage Auto-Enrolment and Re-enrolment process.
Here, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with HR and Managers to ensure complete adherence to processes and collaborative working, you'll have chance to proactively manage adhoc processes and projects, and you'll support others within the team and work collectively when needed. Your keen eye for detail will enable you to maintain well-organised and effective filing systems, databases, and operating procedures.
We'll help you develop knowledge of William Hill’s SAP SuccessFactors system. The office base for this role is Leeds, but we will set you up to work from home, with the expectation that you can join your team in the office when required in line with our newly launched Balance policy.
You have experience of a fast paced and varied payroll, including extensive knowledge of Statutory Payments and how they are calculated. It's essential that you understand Auto-Enrolment and the workings and rules that go with it, and have operated a payroll with a Company Sick Pay Scheme.
Your excellent attention to detail means you can confidently validate and check statutory payments and undertake manual calculations. Experience of working with a Time & Attendance system would be an advantage.
You have good communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to listen and connect with the customer, you have strong analytical skills, and you enjoy actively participating and cooperating with others
Experience of working with SAP payroll systems is desirable, and you'll need to have good Excel Skills (advanced not necessary but would be a bonus) plus the willingness to learn new systems and processes .
