William Hill have an existing large agile development program delivering best of breed products to our sports and gaming clients, we are now creating an enhanced Strategy & Planning function to support that product development roadmap, with appropriate agile governance processes for how we manage our technology Finances, Resources and Reporting / MI …

The objective of the Portfolio Manager within the function is to drive the continuous improvement of management information (MI) and processes across the whole of technology, and ensure we deliver industry leading technology services in a fast paced, agile digital business.

Your role will be to dig deep into our structures and processes and ask the difficult questions challenging our utilization, our capacity planning, and cost spending. We will look to you set up and roll out new strategies/actions/KPI’s etc that ensure our MI is accurate, clear and useful,

Ideally you will be from a highly governance lead environment and have strong background in similar roles - FS,Tech or Finance are all highly advantageous.

The ability to work independently and proactively with a “getting things done attitude”, often with limited or ambiguous data from a variety of sources is essential. You should also possess absolute superstar skills with Powerpoint and Excel and be expert at presenting complex data in an insightful, informative and actionable way.

Demonstrable experience of the implementation and use of tools and processes to support “Agile” technology governance and controls is also a pre-requisite.

Key elements of the role:

-Work closely with senior stakeholders of all business, head office and technology functions (and partner directly with the Finance Global Technology function) to analyse data from the current operating model.  

-Analyse technology cost, quality and efficiency drivers including resourcing, project prioritisation, cost charge back and strategies for location, purchasing and vendor management to provide actionable insights to Exec level management

-Provide recommendations on the effectiveness, efficiency and adaptability of the technology service, through defining, managing and refining value capture metrics.

-Identify gaps in tools, processes and governance practices and drive process improvement measures to address them

-Work closely with Internal Communications to define and implement an effective horizontal and vertical communications and reporting strategy for technology
