Your role in the team
As a Senior AML Case Officer here at William Hill, you will be a highly competent Case Officer with a good understanding of AML and CDD, and a strong operational leader. You will be expected to take a hands on approach to manage and complete case work to support the team, and also have the skills and experience to support and deputise for the Head of Retail AML.
Working with a team of AML Case Officers, you'll use your expertise and experience to coach, develop and motivate your team and provide support to senior managers and peers. You'll have accountability for decisions made and will manage and monitor team workloads and KPI's.
You’ll investigate and conduct the source of funds, associated due diligence and transactional analysis in relation to customer activity, profiling and reviewing of customers across our retail channels. You’ll compile, and analyse data required for law enforcement requests and the submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the National Crime Agency (NCA. Analysis is a key responsibility of the role, where you’ll look further into data relating to specific transactions within the retail environment. You’ll cross-examine the systems to identify suspicious activity and trends that suggest unusual activity.
You’ll work and liaise with a number of different teams within Compliance, Security and other departments and will build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders up to a senior level.
This role is ideal for an experienced AML/CDD professional who has had exposure to coaching, developing or managing a team.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a regulated sector with an excellent understanding of AML and CDD. Ideally, you will have either industry or retail experience with the ability to apply your regulatory understanding and knowledge to William Hill. You’ll need to have an awareness of how money laundering could occur in a retail environment. It would be desirable to have experience of customer profiling, an understanding of the AML in a retail environment, however we do recognise the talent outside of the industry.
You will be naturally curious and have an investigative nature - able to really get to the heart of the information and produce insight, analysis, reports, solutions while using your own initiative. You're able to follow processes and procedures with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You're not afraid to get stuck in and will be comfortable supporting team workloads in addition to your operational responsibilities.
Confident and willing to learn and develop, you're not afraid to challenge the status quo. You'll have a strong belief in doing the right thing and will be a role model for your team. With some experience of coaching, developing and leading a team, you'll have the skills to engage and motivate your colleagues.
Communication skills are key and you will have the capability to interact up to senior stakeholder, build strong working relationships and representing the team to a wide range of audiences.
