Job Description

Here at William Hill we're looking for a highly experienced Senior Analyst to lead a team of Data Analysts to help us ensure we meet our overall licence obligations and in particular achieve our strategic vision of ensuring that 'Nobody is harmed' by gambling. This role will work with a wide range of teams across the business to assist our Senior Executives by producing a clear deliverable data road map for deep dive analytics; actionable management information through Power BI Dashboards and influence on Responsible Gambling algorithms.

About us

We make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after – we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.

Your role in the team

You will not only be hands-on delivering analytics, but have a proven track record in the collation, delivery and presentation of your work, using a wide network of stakeholders to gather the appropriate information about our business and leading a team to deliver. Comfortable with ambiguity, you will understand the business agenda and influence stakeholders; quantifying business impact and championing data driven decision making.

You will develop in a wide range of data and analytical related opportunities; including working with the Compliance leadership team to both understand and influence their strategic and tactical objectives. You'll need to understand the synergies between analysis and our wider business to highlight key trends behind the numbers. You'll use your expertise to advise on the analytical roadmap to further improve our commercial understanding, whilst also producing bespoke analysis, enriched from multiple new data sources, for a varied audience of senior stakeholders.

You'll achieve this through working as part of the wider Business Units to gain a full understanding of the factors that impact our business and the operational practices and policies around them. You'll need to demonstrate the flexibility and focus to handle various projects at once, within both long and short time frames. You'll be able to use your capability and experience in analytics to onboard and brief both senior stakeholders and colleagues alike. You'll need to set  clear, visible roadmaps of deliverables to communicate and deliver against.

Skills needed

We need you to bring us extensive work experience in a data analyst role, and have the ability to lead and develop a team.

You must bring strong data visualisation experience and a good level of skill in SQL, SSAS, SSRS and Power BI. Python or R also desirable. You have an agile outlook, and you're able to prioritise and delegate effectively. An understanding of compliance in the gaming industry would be beneficial, but is not essential.

You must be a creative thinker and problem solver who enjoys taking novel ways to overcome issues. You'll need to employ excellent planning and organisation skills, confident presentation skills, and effective stakeholder management skills. You'll enjoy working in a team and building relationships with other departments

On occasion (when the time is right) you'll have the opportunity to travel to our Leeds, Krakow or London offices.

What we offer

We take the safety and wellbeing of our employees seriously, especially at this challenging time. We have put in place robust Covid19 measures and are supporting our new employees with a smooth remote onboarding and training programme to make you feel welcome and part of our team. We offer a balanced approach to office and home working - now and for the long term future.

We’ll welcome you on board with 25 days holiday (not to mention 12 bank holidays and an extra day for your birthday), a rewarding bonus scheme, an attractive pension package, healthy gym discounts and a staff benefits scheme.
