Job Description

Share your technical know-how

If you ask our people what they like about working at William Hill, you’ll get all sorts of weird and wonderful answers. But if we’re honest, one of the best things about any job is getting paid the right money on the right day of the month. So for most of us, it’s a big deal if our pay doesn’t look right.

To keep things running smoothly, we rely on a team of dedicated and diligent Payroll professionals. We’ve set up a brand new team in our Leeds City Centre office, so this is a great time for an ambitious payroll professional to make a move into our new HR Shared Service Centre.  We’re launching a new HR / Payroll system called SAP SuccessFactors next April, and you’ll be involved in the final stages of the implementation project ready for go-live at the beginning of the 2019/20 tax year.

With around 15,000 employees in our UK shops and offices, our payroll is complex and can be challenging. You’ll do an important job – and you can make a real difference. As a Technical Payroll Assistant you’ll look after intricate and detailed payroll including statutory payments, P11d, and pensions including auto-enrolment.

You’ll be a point of escalation for queries, and will have the opportunity to guide and mentor other members of the payroll team. Taking ownership is important, and treating your colleagues with empathy and care is a must.

We’d like you to bring us experience of working in a very fast paced, high volume payroll team. Having had exposure to lots of payroll work in all its complexity. We need you to be a confident payroll professional who can exercise good judgement and decision making. You’ll already be familiar with statutory payments, deductions, and experience using a SAP payroll system is essential.

Here you’ll find a friendly, supportive culture and colleagues who’ll help you learn about our business. At times, the pace of work can be pretty frenetic, so your ability to focus and produce great work under pressure will help you out.

Our Leeds City Centre office has great public transport links plus shops and places to socialise on your doorstep. Our benefits include 25 days holiday plus a day for your birthday, pension, and the chance to grow your career in an international company.

We all work hard but like to have fun, and we’d love you to be involved. We’re all in this together, and we’re looking forward to welcoming you into the team.
