Job Description

RaceTech provides a unique range of technical and broadcast services to the horse racing industry – from cameras and full outside broadcast (OB) production to photofinish and other technical solutions. These roles are an excellent entry to the world of sports outside broadcasting and you will receive quality training and rapid advancement.

Trainee OB Engineer, Newcastle, Leicester, Chelmsford, Lingfield and Raynes Park SW London, £22k start

You should have good technical knowledge with qualifications in broadcast engineering or electronic engineering and some experience of the OB environment is desirable. With strong IT and communication skills, you must love solving technical problems and be able to work in a high-pressure environment. Requires travel and working evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Driving licence essential and we also offer HGV training.

 

Trainee Camera Operator, York, Leicester, Chelmsford, Lingfield and Raynes Park, £20k start

With a good level of education in media/broadcast or similar, you must be physically fit, comfortable working at heights, in isolation and exposed to the elements, with strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and be part of a team. Knowledge of live sports broadcasting is desirable as is any experience with cameras, lenses or photography, plus ideally an interest or knowledge of horse racing; a willingness to learn and develop is key. Driving licence essential and we also offer HGV driver training. Requires travel and working evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

 

Photofinish Trainee, All locations, £25k start

Photofinish Trainees are trained to set up, rig and deliver the photofinish integrity service on race day providing high quality images to the judges to allow correct determination of the race result. With good colour vision, attention to detail and high levels of concentration, you should have a good understanding of photography and lenses. Requires travel and working evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Driving licence essential; HGV desirable.

 

HGV Driver/Trainee Camera Operator, All locations, £25k subject to experience

As an experienced HGV driver and horse racing enthusiast, you will have primary responsibility for the safe driving of our OB vehicles to and from racecourses. Additionally, you will be trained to operate race coverage cameras and in our OB operations including the safe rigging, operation and de-rigging of cameras. Requires travel and working evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Driving licence essential, minimum Class 2/Cat C HGV qualified.

 

For all roles, you will be expected to reside within a 30-minute drive of your chosen base.
