Betfair promote Fiona Russell to chief legal role

20 September 2013

BETFAIR have promoted Fiona Russell to the position of chief legal officer and company secretary.

Russell, who was director of regulatory affairs at the company, started at Betfair in May 2006 as international legal counsel having previously been a solicitor at BSkyB.

Susannah Gill will continue to deal with public affairs in the UK.

Russell replaces Martin Cruddace who officially leaves Betfair early in September, having joined the company in 2004.

He was one of the last of the major figures who still remained at Betfair, having been present for the 2010 flotation. He joined the company from law firm Schillings having previously been head of the legal department for Mirror Group Newspapers.
