16 May 2013

STEPHEN VOWLES is to step down as Ladbrokes' customer experience director at the end of the summer after completing a restructure of Ladbrokes' marketing functions.

The restructure is taking place following the creation of Ladbrokes Israel, the bookmaker's new ecommerce and digital marketing services operation based in Tel Aviv formed as part of the firm's link-up with Playtech.

There will be no direct replacement for Vowles, who joined Ladbrokes in 2010.

Vowles said: "I have enjoyed my time at Ladbrokes and am proud of what we have achieved. The creation of Ladbrokes Israel is a great opportunity to turbo charge growth in this important area and in refocusing the marketing function to ensure its success, it feels like a natural time to move on."

Ladbrokes chief executive Richard Glynn added: "Stephen has made a key contribution to the business since arriving in late 2010 and will play an important role in ensuring the business has the right marketing model to fully leverage the expertise we have in setting up Ladbrokes Israel.

"We are grateful for all he has done in his time with the business and I wish him every success in his future endeavours".
