Davison joins board at Ascot

Guy Davison has been appointed a non-executive director of Ascot racecourse,where he succeeds Justin Dowley on the board. Davison, a qualified accountant, was a founding partner of leading private equity firm Cinven and held responsibility for a wide range of investments, including William Hill and Gala Coral, where he sat on the board of both companies. 

He has been a member of the Thurloe Thoroughbreds racing syndicate for the last decade, and had a horse in training with Richard Hannon last year. Ascot chair man Johnny Weatherby said: “I am delighted Guy has agreed to become our newest non-executive director.As well as enjoying a distinguished business career, he is passionate and knowledgeable about racing.

“He’s an excellent addition to the board and I look forward to working with him.  At the same time, I would like to pay tribute to his predecessor. Justin has made a significant contribution to our board and I would like to thank him very much and wish him well for the future.”
