Grimthorpe to become new chairman at York

30 August 2011

YORK racecourse committee chairman Nicholas Wrigley, the Jockey Club senior steward, is standing down at end of December, after six years in the role. He will be succeeded by Khalid Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe.

Wrigley, who will remain on the committee, said: "There comes a time when any board needs fresh leadership and six years is long enough for anyone to do the job."
