Group operations director Chuter to leave

06 February 2015

IAN CHUTER is leaving his role as group operations director at Betfair this month, a position he has held since July 2011.

During that time he has been responsible for overseeing Betfair's global customer operations team, which includes telephone betting, market operations, risk, payments and trading.

The role had been a new position and reflected Betfair's wish to make operations a more significant focus for their business.

It seems to have worked, with the sports betting and casino arms having been significantly developed alongside the exchange.

Chuter was previously Ralph Topping's right-hand man at Hills, where he worked nearly nine years as group head of international and UK operations.

Chuter said: "I am richer for the experience of working at Betfair where I have been fortunate enough to work with a really great team."

Betfair's communications manager James Midmer said: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ian for his significant contribution over the past three and a half years."
