Hills joins Plumpton as new chief executive

22 June 2015

KATE HILLS, Arena Racing Company's long-serving director of public relations and communications, has been unveiled as the new chief executive of Plumpton racecourse.

Earlier this month it was announced that Hills was leaving her role at Arc following an "internal reorganisation" following nearly 15 years with the company.

She will start her new job at Plumpton in the middle of next month, filling the void left by Emma Santer after her departure last year, and said: "I am extremely excited about joining Plumpton.  It's a new role for me and I'm really looking forward to working with the track's experienced team.

"The directors have made a considerable investment at the course since their acquisition in 1998. It's a popular track with both horsemen and racegoers. I would like to continue to build on these achievements and develop both the racing and non-racing business."

Course chairman Peter Savill added: "We are delighted to welcome Kate back to Plumpton, she worked as part of the Plumpton team in an earlier part of her career. With a long spell at Arena Leisure and more recently Arc, Kate has widespread knowledge of all aspects of racecourse business."
