Two new directors added to Senet Group board

GAMBLING watchdog the Senet Group has added two new directors to its board,writes Bill Barber. 

Stephen Thornton, who has had a distinguished career in the health sector,joins as an independent director. 

Senet Group chair Wanda Goldwag said: “It is really valuable to have someone with Stephen’s strong health sector and operational background join the board at this time to help us in our endeavour to reduce gambling-related harm.” 

The Senet Group board is constituted to always have a majority of independent directors with Thornton joining Goldwag, Suzanne McCarthy and Gillian Wilmot,who were appointed in January 2015. 

When Sky Bet became a Senet Group member it was seen as a coup for the organisation as they were the first online-only betting company to join the body. 

Now the firm’s chief executive Richard Flint has also joined the Senet Group board.
